QuestionDoes this require a chest strap for heart monitoring? And how accurate is the heart monitor?

- Answer No, there is no chest strap needed. While the wrist tracker is proven to not be as accurate as the chest strap, I have found that when comparing a chest strap HR monitor and the fitbit, that the Fitbit is actually pretty accurate. My only complaint is that if you are using it for strenuous exercise and get sweaty, sometimes the Fitbit has a hard time keeping your Heart Rate. They suggest to wear it higher up on your wrist when exercising, which I have found works.

QuestionI want to get a fitbit charge hr. I saw they came out with hr2. Which do you recommend? I'm small 5'0 I'm used to a flex it's slim. The hr looks wide. Which one is wider hr or hr2? I want to upgrade cause I want something display the time.

- Answer They're about the same size so that shouldn't be much of an issue. The HR2 has a much higher build quality. My original HR got the dreaded air bubble issue where the glue holding the strap down failed and a large bubble appeared in the strap. Within a year's time, it had fallen apart. The HR2 doesn't suffer from the same problem and I'm enjoying it much more. The HR2 also has a larger display - I'm able to show time, date, and steps all on one screen on mine.

QuestionMy mother is not tech savvy and has macular degeneration (going blind), looking for something easy to use and will "talk" to her. Any suggestions? Would this be a good fit?

- Answer Very simple to use once paired with phone. Actually has decent sized screen, depending on how bad her macular degeneration is she might be able to see it. It doesn't 'talk' but you can have vibrating alarms set up for certain things for her. Also side note, depending on how bad her macular degeneration is you could look into Anti-VEGF medication injection treatments for wet macular degeneration. Worked great for my grandma. Gave her sight back (was able to read books again) & worked for about 7-10yrs before it faded. I think you can only do it once or twice.

- Answer It will graph your heart rate to your iPhone when you finish your workout. It will show you a digital read out of your rate while exercising. This product will give you the total steps taken, miles reached, calories burned, steps climbed, active minutes of moderate activity once exercise has started. A great product. I use this product every single day.

- Answer Go into the App. Select the top button in the right hand corner for account. And click on the charge 2 icon and you can switch the settings from there. :) Hope this helps.

- Answer I set mine up on a windows 10 laptop. you can use the app via the computer (windows 10). Although I use the app on my phone, since I have it handy more often. Much easier for the app to communicate via the phone's Bluetooth. I don't have mine continuously synced so not to use up my phones data and battery.

- Answer I had issues with it not counting the steps if i was holding the bar with the hand that had the Fitbit on it. The charge2 has a heart rate monitor but you may be using the treadmill heartrate to adjust elevation or pace, so, this could be an issue.

- Answer You probably could. I do a lot of my playing between a Chromebook and an iPad. You can go into the settings and add activities. Between taking steps and a change in heart rate you could get a fairly accurate idea. Also on the Charge 2 push the button repeatedly to get to your activity and then you should be able to touch the screen to move through activities. Also, weight lifting may be an option.

- Answer Yes when you set up the charge 2 you have the option of choosing from several watch displays. I prefer the standard digital date and time display with heart rate and step count beneath.

- Answer Yes battery seems to last much longer, possibly because display is not motion activated. I think wit ability to replace band, it will be a better choice.

- Answer water resistant. Not water proof. Not recommended for shower, bath or swimming, per owner's manual. If splashed, it is fine.

- Answer Yes it is. The display quality is the same as the previous version. Differences between this model and the previous version: - The screen does not scratch as easily (yay) - A much larger display - Can preview calendar events & text messages - Can view multiple metrics at once (ie- Heart Rate & Step Count or Distance & Calories Burned, etc)
