No, there is no chest strap needed. While the wrist tracker is proven to not be as accurate as the chest strap, I have found that when comparing a chest strap HR monitor and the fitbit, that the Fitbit is actually pretty accurate. My only complaint is that if you are using it for strenuous exercise and get sweaty, sometimes the Fitbit has a hard time keeping your Heart Rate. They suggest to wear it higher up on your wrist when exercising, which I have found works.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.For heart-rate monitoring, no you do not have to wear a chest strap. It does work well overall. When you are vigorously exercising it gets off a litte bit, but the program that you sycn with to look at your data fills in the gaps very accurately.
