“My mother is not tech savvy and has macular degeneration (going blind), looking for something easy to use and will "talk" to her. Any suggestions? Would this be a good fit?”

Very simple to use once paired with phone. Actually has decent sized screen, depending on how bad her macular degeneration is she might be able to see it. It doesn't 'talk' but you can have vibrating alarms set up for certain things for her. Also side note, depending on how bad her macular degeneration is you could look into Anti-VEGF medication injection treatments for wet macular degeneration. Worked great for my grandma. Gave her sight back (was able to read books again) & worked for about 7-10yrs before it faded. I think you can only do it once or twice.

There is some software that "reads" screens on the computer webpages. I think they are free. You could find one for you mom then see if the program is able to read from the Fitbit "Dashboard" if that is possible. Good luck. Check for Visually Impaired support sites on the Web. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The only thing that this thing "talks", is through its vibration mechanism, which is good for alarms and reminders to get moving. The display is bright and easy to read, but I couldn't speak to how someone with MD would get along with seeing it.
