A:AnswerYes, for some of the features like ECG, you need the premium service. You can still use all the basic functions (step counting, sleep, etc.) without, but even then it might be less user friendly. Once I realized about the ECG locking, I returned before seeing what else premium unlocks.

A:Answer2 years if you are a Total Tech Member. If not, make sure you buy the extended warranty. I am on my third Charge 5 due to issues, but i love it, and Best Buy warranty period resets to exchange date (at least with Total Tech). Not sure if extended warranty date resets.
