The Fitbit will record "steps" by moving your hands some. You can pick dominant and non-dominant hands in the initial setup. But FitBit states in their manual that they allowed this on purpose, because if you are moving, you should get credit for the exercise.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.yes, its not perfect.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I thought of that, too. When I move my arm up and down very quickly, I do get credit for faux steps. However, normal arm movement does not seem to add steps. Bottom line: you can cheat if you want to, but who are you cheating? In your case, I think stocking shelves would have a minimal impact on your actual step count.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In my experience it will pick up some arm movements, I have adjusted the sensitivity to dominant hand and it has been less sensitive to arm movements. I do go over my 10000 step goal everyday so I'm not so worried about it as much anymore.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Probably not, if you have it set right. You will probably need to have it on your non-dominate wrist or wear it in your pocket during work to accurately track your steps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It might influence it slightly. However, I noticed that when on the treadmill, I can hold it up and look at it, or even hold the bar while I walk or run and it still counts all of the steps. I would guess that any difference from using your hands would be negligible.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. it will not count every move as a step, but it will show that you have taken more steps than you actually have.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It doesn't seem to pick up any movement at my desk (reaching back and forth) so I think you might be ok. Driving a few miles picks up only maybe 20-30 steps, so I've found it's pretty good at discerning actual steps from other activities.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No I don't think so. The thing knows the difference in steps and hand motion. You will need to make sure in your setup that you indicate if wearing on your dominate hand.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am pretty sure the Charge would count your hand/arm movements as steps.
