How do you shut the Fitbit off? null

Let the battery die or disconnect from the Fitbit app.

You can't turn it off, but it does go off when you are charging it.

I do not . If you want to shut it down let the battery run out.

You don't! My Fitbit Charge lasts about 7-9 days, then I recharge it overnight. Rinse and repeat!

The display shuts off automatically after a few moments. Otherwise it appears to be always on - even when charging

It does not - it never sleeps. It rest when you remove from wrist or plug in to charge. But there is no downtime for Fitbit

I have the fitbit zip. It just stays on unless you open the back and take out the batteries. Batteries last a good while so I've not seen any need to turn it off.

There is no on/off button. You simply take it off your wrist. The battery will eventually drain down if not recharged.
