You have to adjust your setting and wear it in you non- dominate hand. This way it will not register it. Also, in the setting you can chose how sensitive is it to movement.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You need to make sure program it correctly depending on which wrist you wear it on dominant hand or non-dominant hand.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I find that the steps added by some movements are evened out by the steps I take without swinging my arm due to carrying stuff, etc. And you wear it on your non-dominant wrist, minimizing the effect. Also, you tell it whether it is your dominant or non dominate arm so it will change the sensitivity of the mechanism.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. At first, the step counts are somewhat off, but after a few days the device starts to get a sense of how you move for more accurate counts. I often wonder if it's registering steps when I clap my hands or talk with my hands, but if you're meeting your step goals (10,000+) what's a few extra tallies for other movements. I contest that these additional movements are still counting for calories burned especially if you're lifting weights. If you're really concerned about an EXACT step counter, just get a pedometer and clip it to your waist. If you want all the other benefits of the fitbit (calorie tracking, sleep tracking, challenging your friends, miles logged/fitness tracking), then relax on the steps and buy the fitbit :)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's possible because it is activity but I don't know why someone would choose to raise their arm to get steps. It's very accurate if you're measuring steps although you may need to adjust your stride via your Fitbit account.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't know about that, but it might have skewed numbers for steps anyway depending on a person's stride.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No...just brushed hair and same count.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, that is true.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It can be skewed by moving your hand at a rythmed pace, but not by just raising your hand to drink and so forth.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was thinking it did the same thing so I started using it on my left hand, I am right handed. I am not sure but I feel like it has made it more accurate.
