Information says fitbit is water resistant (this model). Has anyone used it to walk in a pool? If so does it truly keep the water out? Using fitbit in water / pool to measure steps.

I use the Flex because it is water resistant. I go into pools, as well as take showers with it and I have never had a problem.

It is water resistant NOT waterproof.
Long term submersion will freeze your Fitbit. It will eventually stop tracking your steps until it has dried out.
Long term it will not work.

My advice would be to be careful. Water resistant is not waterproof. Take from someone who washed a FitBit twice. It survived the first wash, but not the second. That's not exactly the same situation as walking in a pool, but I can tell you it cannot survive underwater or prolonged contact with water. But if you walk in the pool and keep the tracker from going under water, you should be okay. Hope this helps.

I haven't used it in the pool, but I do hair and wear it while shampooing, it gets pretty wet and so far so good, not sure about submersion though.

I wore my FitBit all day to a waterpark with no issues. It tracked my steps perfectly and didn't harm the product. So far..so good!

Have worn it in water and it survived, but be sure to dry it off right away. Don't think you should swim laps with it or submerge it in water, though.

i accidentally wore mine into the bathtub for a minute once. It survived it. I thought the battery suddenly being dead was an odd coincidence though. Other than that with my job I'm constantly sweating and washing all around it and haven't suffered a breakdown yet.

It is not waterproof and I even take it off to do dishes as water got underneath it and it stopped working until I dried it off.

Water resistance does not mean water proof. I would never use it in a pool, or even a shower. The battery and pins connecting the battery are not sealed, so you would run a big risk of corrosion. Just my opinion.
