• For hours. Never had an issue with a full charge

• The surge does use battery life up quickly while in gps mode (About 5 hours) , but it charges very fast(about 1 hour). When it is not in gps mode the life is 5-7 days on a 1 hour charge.

• GPS will drain the battery a lot. The most i used mine with the GPS so far was for about 2 Hours 54 minutes , i completely charged it before going for the bike ride and after i finished it was about halfway.

• i have used it during a marathon. i am not a fast runner, it lasted at LEAST 5 hours. i would bet it would last longer
