QuestionIs the fitbit surge water/sweat proof?

- Answer Definitely sweat proof, I wouldn't wear it in the shower and would try to keep it from getting too wet other wise. I wear mine all day every day except the shower and I'm fine. (I'm a nurse so for example I was my hands an ungodly amount of time per day and have never had a problem)

- Answer The battery is built in. Just be sure you have your charging cable handy if you're using any fitness training program. Regular use it'll last one week. GPS tracking exercises like a jog around the park, 5 hours.

- Answer Screen is always on. Backlight does require you to touch the screen or push a button to light up if dark.

QuestionDo i need my phone to map out my run?okay lets say i want to go for a run in a different route i normally go on, and i do not know the distance of these runs, and also i leave my phone at home. Will the Sure map out my run? for example plot out my run on a map and tell me how far i ran as soon as i get home? or does the Fitbit Charge HR do this aswell?

- Answer I have small wrists but bought the large as I read that it should be loose for certain workouts. There are plenty of holes of adjustment so it will not be too big. Also, I use my original Fitbit Flex to keep the Surge in the proper position, which is supposed to be a finger width or two above your wrist.

- Answer No just sweat/water resistant. Water proof means it can be submerged. Resistant allows only a little wetness. Only damp cloth to clean and no soap.

- Answer The surge does. You have to choose that as one of the forms of exercise on the fit it app,when setting it up. You can choose between several different kinds of exercise. Hiking,walking, and cycling now.

- Answer No the time is not always visible - given it retains the last viewed screen (e.g. if you last viewed steps it stays on steps). It's as easy as pressing the home button twice to return to the time screen no matter which screen you are on. It hasn't been a bother to me.

- Answer It is not waterproof! I have heard of people swimming with it, but I personally don't trust myself with it! I don't swim with it or shower with it, etc. But it definitely is NOT waterproof.

- Answer Call fitbit support. The best part of fitbit, aside from their management website is really their support. I started out a couple of support cases via their online chat and both times I was shocked to see how accommodating they were. Not sure if I just got lucky and caught them in the weeks prior to going public, forcing the support agents to be super supportive but both times I had issues they were resolved. Im sure if you call them or open a chat online you will be extremely satisfied with the results. Ask them how to acquire a new charging cable and see what happens. Trust me.

- Answer i wear my fitbit flex all the time, even when i'm washing the dishes and showering. I have not had any issues or problems with it being under water. You may just want to air out the band to help dry up the inside.

- Answer No it only uses the gps for tracking the route you run a good app for what your looking for is road id. That app is really accurate and can let up to 5 people track you while you run, I have it and glad I do.

- Answer Yes...I use mine during Crossfit. The only issue, at times, is that occasionally, big wrist bend movements may cause the tracker to lose heart rate. It comes back in less than a minute and I haven't noticed any spikes or dips in the overall heart rate through the workout.

- Answer I had the Charge HR and opted to go with the Surge. I needed a larger face. It does a better job of tracking heart rate due to the wider band.

- Answer I thought the same thing until I got one. The face is larger. You have more options when it comes to tracking your execises. There are eliptical, hiking, treadmill and even circuit and weight lifting options. You can also get your text messages. It also functions as a gps while running. I haven't used that feature though.
