“Do i need my phone to map out my run? okay lets say i want to go for a run in a different route i normally go on, and i do not know the distance of these runs, and also i leave my phone at home. Will the Sure map out my run? for example plot out my run on a map and tell me how far i ran as soon as i get home? or does the Fitbit Charge HR do this aswell?”

Fitbit - Surge comes with inbuilt GPS tracking, which gives you pace, distance, routes and elevation climbed—without needing your smartphone nearby.

With the surge, you will need to turn on the GPS before you run and it doesn't matter the route it will track it. Only the surge has the GPS availability which tracks your running, distance, etc. But you have to turn on GPS for it to track where you go. I hope I answered your question
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you have the activity tracker set and started, (I use run), it tracks my route and shows the distance using the GPS no matter where I am running, route or not. Then, it sync's with the app and I can see all the data. Hope that helps.
