No it only uses the gps for tracking the route you run a good app for what your looking for is road id. That app is really accurate and can let up to 5 people track you while you run, I have it and glad I do.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No they wont be able to find you. The fitbit gps basically tracks your locations while running/walking and you can upload to your phone/app. The GPS was simply made to track your actual distance vs getting a rough estimate based on steps.

The data collected can then be downloaded to another device and uses google maps to give you a visible representation of your course complete with heart-rate, pace and elevation changes along the way. It does not have a radio function for you to find it and you if you are lost.
