I can't speak about the other Fitbits, but tennis is one of the exercises one can choose on the Surge. I don't know what information it gives different from the 'workout' exercise mode I often use, which gives duration, intensity (heart rate) and calories burned. A nice thing about the Fitbit is that it's personal: you enter (or with the right smart scale, it syncs) your height, weight, body fat... and Fitbit does the rest. I'm attaching photos of the recognized activities (you choose 7 for your Fitbit) and the automatically recognized exercises, by default recognized after 15 minutes. These are found most easily in the Fitbit online app under settings/device.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No Fitbit will measure Tennis swings or anything like that. The Surge can be set to aerobic and it will measure your heart rate and take into consideration your number of "steps" during the activity and will slap out a calorie burn figure at the end. This will also count towards your activity minutes for the day. The surge comes preset with a number of workouts that it tracks (e.g. run, hike, elliptical, spin, etc.). You can then add additional shortcuts using the Fitbit App. But all in all, when I use it for spinning it simply calculates the length of my workout x heart rate x weight x height = Calorie Burn
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would assume it is..I wear my fit bit surge while playing softball..it picks up on the activity without me indicating any activity on the watch..tennis appears to have a lot more running activity so that's what my assumption is based upon.I sweat a lot and wear my fit bit on my glove hand and have not had a problem..i still get my bpm, step and tracks it as an exercise..hopefully this helps
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Charge HR has a more comfortable fit because of its size
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Any of the Fitbit's will count steps, most track sleep, calories, and mileage. The Surge can track up to 7 different types of exercises and has a multitude of features. Some people think it is bulky and clunky. It is not for everyone because of the multitude of features. The Surge HR is a good choice.
