“What is the purpose of the prongs at the end of the handle?”

• Its supposed to fit over/around the raise grill ledges to scrap the top and sides but its too wide and only gets the top not sides.

• the little prongs easily take off any hardened food particles when cleaning. It works well for getting in the openings.

• it cleans the burnt on stuff off the grate
