When you get your AppleTV home hook it up to your TV and your Wi-Fi and it will give you a card inside with three free months of Apple TV use the code on the back of the card and tell you how to get the Apple TV subscription for three months for free

You have to subscribe through Best Buy and then in the App Store where your subscriptions are

Your receipt has the instructions on it with a code to type in. Don't know about what happens if you do it on your phone, but on a computer it made me download itunes. You will need an Apple ID or will need to create one.
