A:AnswerAfter my purchase, I didn't really bother with the Best Buy emaiI, I just opened the AppleTV app on my Samsung TV and was prompted to sign in. In fact it gave me the option to use my iPhone and scan a QR code on the lower left corner of my tv and "bam" Apple TV opened and I was good to go.

If your concerned just cancel AppleTV+ a week or two ahead of trial expiration date. Note you will need to setup Itunes as well.

Apple only sends those codes to Apple devices. like an iphone, ipad, apple computers (laptop or desktop, ipod etc...). you may have to buy a cheap or used apple device, but first create an account at Apple.com with your personal information, then register your device with Apple. You may even be able to register your friends device (check to see if this legal) with Apple if they haven't already registered it; however all of your codes will be sent to your friends device.
