Your Tracfone would first have to be unlocked (by Tracfone). Search "Tracfone unlocking policy" for more information about that. Freedompop recently sold their company to Ting and Red Pocket. As of today, June 18, 2019, it is unknown if the Freedompop annual plans will be honored. Red Pocket told me they might have answers tomorrow. I purchased a Freedompop annual plan 17 days ago. It has not been activated yet but I am stuck with it because of Best Buy's short return policy.

For example Tracfone had a Bring-Your-Own-Phone BYOP plan where you could use old Verizon phones in an MNVO plan for around $7/mo. But you'd know if you had an old VZ phone that you brought over. Sometimes carriers will unlock (GSM) or "accounting unlock" (CDMA) pre-paid phones but only after they've been paid for month to month for 2 years.
