I've had a few units, ranging from a SEARS, GE, and one unknown brand. This is the quietest I've seen for the price.

Its really quiet. I have had 3 different disposals in various houses. This is the quietest one I have heard.

Don't know, I had to return because it did not work with my wiring; It was a plug-in, I have hard wiring.

About the equivalent of a beard trimmer or hair trimmers, not the quietest. Although i did notice the noise diference between this one and my old one where as my old one sounded like a blender going off this one is much quieter.
