If the opening was originally for a regular wall unit, then if you carefully make a frame out of 2" X 3"s and some 1/8 to 1/4" ply wood you should be able to use this type of AC providing you keep the side and top vents of the casing clear of any blockage to air flow. I've successfully have been doing this for the last 30 years. Keep in mind to come up with a way to lock in or screw in the casing for security. Sorry don't have any photos handy, maybe I'll try posting tomorrow. What you'll need are pieces of 2X3, some thin ply wood or other pliable flat material to join the 2X3s together, plenty of foam weather stripping and maybe a good grade of chaulking. Jah
