Hello Polly! The air conditioner FFRE1033S1 filter can be removed by opening the front panel using the tabs. Grab the filter by the center and pull it up. Wash the filter using liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water. Make sure it has been rinsed thoroughly and completely dry before reinstalling it. Another option is vacuuming it clean.
