CORRECTION: The insulation is the same on both models. The more expensive model has ELECTRONIC digital controls and therefore uses slightly less electricity than the cheaper old fashioned mechanical turn dial controls. Electronic is slightly more precise while mechanical some technicians say is more reliable. Your choice/opinion.

Please try again later.The FFTR model is a very slightly cheaper quality build that uses very slightly more energy consumption vs the more expensive FFHT model which is slightly more insulated. Both meet Energy Star but the difference is the FFTR model uses appx 369kw per year versus 332kw per year. That's about an average of an $8 per year difference depending on where you live and your electricity rates. Everything else is exactly the same on the two models.
