“How strong are the glass shelves? Has anyone ever had them start to crack or even fail under the weight of too many glass bottles, for example? Let’s imagine I am just loading an entire shelf full of Heineken bottles, all upright. Any objections?”

The shelves are comparable to a full size refrigerator in strength so you will have no problem. But as others have said the pictures showing full size bottles resting on the bottom of the fridge is misleading. They will not fit. You have to rearrange shelves which creates some odd shelf sizes. Overall I’m happy with the fridge.
