“I have new replacement windows with a thin lip at the bottom, one inch high, If I set the air conditioner on this it will break. is there a bracket that comes with it. or is the bottom recessed to fit the lip?”

• A strip of plywood in the window well will remedy your problem.

• Normally setting a piece of wood or sacrificial polystyrene insulation on the sill will help you avoid your Problem and raise the a/c above the inner lip of sill . Make sure you support a/c through other means as the vinyl will deform from the weight
