I am like you-many do not want it. Yes can turn it off but if you have dedicated water "valve" to the fridge...keep a line connected to the valve at least...so you can test the valve once + awhile in a bucket...Know that this is another hole in an otherwise insulated unit. Ug!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The ice bin inside freezer is removable & you can control the ice maker from inside fridge with on/off setting. So if you’re not wanting an ice maker, you could just not install waterline & either remove ice bin or use for storage of freezer items, just make sure ice maker setting is set to OFF inside fridge which is super easy with just a push of a button.
