Did anyone opt to purchase the protection plan? null

I didn't. I usually never do as the products usually have issues fairly early on in my experience (which would then be cover by the original warranty) and therefore many products will simply outlast the extended warranty period. However, another way to look at it is that you are simply buying piece of mind and for some folks it's well worth it.

Definitely my other Frigidaire needed work after 2 years...it's not a bad price I got the 5 year for 130.00
