Not long.  Maybe an hour.  Great fridge.

It took about 3 hors to cool off. i waited for about 4 hours to put  things in the freezer.

It takes a number of hours for it to fully cool the freezer to the proper temp. I had it set up and plugged in by 11am and felt comfortable putting food in the freezer by 5pm. It probably was able to be in earlier, but I checked with a thermometer around that time and it was ready to freeze.
