“I've read a comment/review on the gray version of this model that complains about the door occasionally having to be slammed really hard to close. This model has the auto close at 5" ajar so if there a problem with it can the feature be disconnected?”

Thanks for reaching out to us, Nestaway! Unfortunately, the auto close feature cannot be disabled. A tip that can assist with the door closing properly is to ensure all four corners of the cabinet are resting firmly on the floor, leveled at the front and rear, and the sides are tilted ¼ inch (6 mm) from front to back.
