Thank you for your question. Yes — most upright freezers like the Frigidaire 20 Cu. Ft. Garage Ready Upright Freezer require a certain amount of clearance around the unit for proper ventilation and performance. - Jessica

Please try again later.Hi Don, Yes However before I bought it I took the model number of the fridge off Best Buy site & looked up the model number.There were all the answers & that helped me to move forward & purchase. It’s a great freezer & where I put mine there was nothing else on that wall. I set it away from wall 4 inches. But get the manual online because it tells you everything you need to know to be positive it’s the right one for you. The only issue which is written about a lot is the wheels do not lock like a fridge does so you have to use shims on front & back wheels. The freezer door seals down tight which it should & if you don’t get those wheels locked down somehow this big ol freezer will roll around when you try to open the door. My wife really likes it very much it was the right one for her.
