  • QuestionHow long the refrigerator fan run. My unit fan keeps running most of the time which is noisy

    Asked by Ravi.

    • Answer Hi there, Ravi! Thanks for dropping by! It’s normal for the refrigerator to work longer. Warm air entering the refrigerator causes it to run more. Open doors less often. Ensure the refrigerator is level. Keep food and containers from blocking the door. Set the refrigerator control to a warmer setting until the refrigerator temperature is satisfactory. Allow 24 hours for the temperature to stabilize. - Lauren

  • QuestionOk I am 78 first time ice maker fridge and in reading abt water line my water line is on the opposite of my kitchen can I get this model without ice maker or if possible how can I make ice manually will delivery ppl install water line r alternate

    Asked by Baltimoregirl.

    • Answer Good day, Baltimoregirl! Great questions — and congratulations on your new refrigerator! It’s wonderful that you're learning about it and planning. Let's walk through each part of your question clearly and simply: 1. Can you get the model without the ice maker? For the Frigidaire - 25.6 Cu. Ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator (Stainless Steel): - Most side-by-side refrigerators like this one automatically come with an ice maker built in. - Frigidaire does not typically offer a version of this model without the ice maker. - But you do not have to hook up the water line if you don't want to — the ice maker just won’t work. So yes, you can still use the fridge without using the ice maker. 2. Can the delivery people install the water line? That depends on where you’re buying it from. Here’s a general idea: - Best Buy: They can install the water line if you purchase an installation service and have the water line hookup nearby. - Since your water line is on the opposite side of the kitchen, most delivery people will not run the line across the kitchen — that’s usually a job for a plumber or handyman. - You would need a longer water line hose, but it could be a tripping hazard or need to go through cabinets or under the floor. 3. What if you just want to make ice manually? No problem at all! You can skip the ice maker completely and: - Turn off the ice maker (usually a switch or lever inside the freezer). - Use traditional ice cube trays — just fill them with tap water and put them in the freezer. - There are also manual countertop ice makers if you want something more automatic without plumbing. - Maico

  • QuestionHow do ice maker cut off when it is full of ice. Does it automatically stop making ice

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hi there, valued consumer! The Frigidaire refrigerator’s ice maker automatically stops making ice when the bin fills, and starts again when needed. It relies on a simple mechanical arm and switch system. Issues usually boil down to the arm being stuck or broken, but these are normally easy to fix. How the ice maker stops itself - Inside the ice maker, there's a small wire shut-off arm (sometimes plastic) that sits above the ice bin. - As ice accumulates, it gradually raises the arm. - When the ice reaches a certain level, it lifts the arm, which triggers a built-in microswitch (or sensor) to pause the ice-making cycle. - Once the ice is used and the level drops, the arm lowers, reactivating the switch and signaling to begin a new cycle. - Maico

    • Answer Thanks for reaching out, Frank! Here are some troubleshooting tips that may help to address your concern. 1.The refrigerator must be plugged in for more than 24 hours. 2.Need to make sure the unit is connect to water. 3.The water passes through the filter, not having a filter in place will prohibit the water from dispensing into the icemaker and water dispenser. 4.Please check if the filter is frozen or cracked. (If your filter is cracked or frozen you may need a deflector kit) 5.If the filter has not been changed within the last 4 to 6 months, please have it replaced 6. Also the factory suggested temperature setting for the freezer is 0 degrees. Acceptable operating temperature of the freezer is -6 degrees to 6 degrees. • QuestionFridge is new but not making ice cubes how long does it take to make ice???

    Asked by Ruben.

    • Answer Hi Ruben! Thank you for reaching out. With a new Frigidaire FRSS2623AW refrigerator, it is normal for ice production to take some time. Once the refrigerator is properly installed and the freezer reaches the correct temperature (around 0°F), it can take up to 24 hours for the ice maker to produce the first batch of ice. After that, ice production will continue gradually, and it may take 1 to 2 additional days to fully fill the ice bin if no ice is being used. If the refrigerator has been running for more than 48–72 hours and still is not making ice, we recommend checking that the water supply is fully connected, the ice maker is turned on, and the freezer temperature is set correctly. - Reed

  • QuestionHow to connect a hose for the water and ice dispenser does the hose come with it

    Asked by Rami.

    • Answer Hi Rami! Thank you for reaching out to us. For model FRSS2623AS, the refrigerator does not include the water supply hose in the box. To connect the water and ice dispenser, you will need to purchase a standard ¼-inch water supply line, either braided stainless steel or copper. To install it, simply connect the ¼-inch line to the water inlet valve located at the back of the refrigerator, and attach the other end to your home’s cold-water supply using a proper shut-off valve. Once connected, turn the water on, check for leaks, and run the dispenser for a few minutes to flush the line. - Reed
