I don't think a carpet would be a problem. I think under a counter would be fine. I would suggest about 2 inches to the sides because this is where the heat radiates out, from the lower half of the sides and gets rather warm.

Yes it can be sit on any types of floor (more preferable) but it can also be sat on the carpet area.

The refrigerator must be installed on a floor that is level and strong enough to support a fully loaded refrigerator. This is a freestanding refrigerator not recommend for under counter installation.
