Fi, Fred! Yes, you can use pods. For best results add the recommended quantity of detergent packs (One or Two) directly in the empty drum BEFORE placing the laundry into the unit. DO NOT place the detergent packs on top of the laundry as the gel coating may stick to the clothes. ~ Christy
