“DOE BTU is calculated by multiplying the room sq ft by 20. So a 325 sq ft room needs a DOE BTU of 6500. (325 x 20). Why does this AC claim to cool a 450 sq ft room. Shouldn't it either be 350 sqft or the DOE BTU should be 9000 (9000 / 20 = 450sqft).”

• The BTU is 6500. The Recommended Room Size is 450 sq.ft. The recommended area size in which the product is designed to operate and produce optimal results, such as the desired heating or cooling. Generally, running a unit too big or too small for the space will result in ineffective operation and wasted energy. ~ Christy
