Hi SweetE. Cast Iron is a poor heat conductor however will retain heat very well. It cooks evenly once cooking temperature is reached. We do want to express to use caution while cooking with cast iron on a ceramic glass cooktop. If dropped, cast iron can damage the cooktop due to the weight. Sliding cast iron across the cooktop could scratch the surface. We hope this information is helpful. ~ Anna
