• Hello, NeedToKnow. Approximately every 2 months defrosting is needed. The freezer is 1.2 cu. ft. The minimum clearances required for adequate circulations 3" for the back, sides, and above. • For most modern refrigerators 1-2 inches from the wall is all the space required to allow heat to dissipate from the compressor and heated coils.
