- Answer It does indeed have a step. It is about 8 1/2" top to bottom, x 8 1/2" wide x @ 16-ish" front to back. The step is on the right side.

- Answer It's a dial so you don't really know how low the temperature can go although not sure if the manual says anything., Suppose you could always put a thermometer inside. We have it on the "warmest" setting and it is still frosting the inside around the top by the lid.
