“Is there a step inside? Does this freezer have a step at the bottom that cuts into the footprint (this is usually to make room for the compressor)? If so, how big is that step?”

• It does indeed have a step. It is about 8 1/2" top to bottom, x 8 1/2" wide x @ 16-ish" front to back. The step is on the right side.
