- Answer Thank you for your inquiry! The oven vent is located on the unit itself below the back guard. Touching the surfaces in this area when the oven is operating may cause severe burns. Also, we recommend that you do not place plastic or heat-sensitive items on or near the oven vent. These items could melt or ignite. - Answer Luckily the outside of the stove doesn't get hot at all. I have a 1 year old who is constantly in the kitchen and the oven door, handle, and none of its parts have ever been hot enough to burn. Warm to alert you it is on, but not hot.
