“On my electric range when I choose medium it cycles on and off to keep it at medium. Does induction cycle the same way? I'm missing my gas stove.”

It is a number system. It will remain at the heat intensity you select . You will have to adapt. Your cookware will need to change potentially We went from gas to this unit and have been loving every minute of it. You won't miss your gas stove once you move to induction.
