It does a nice job with a 700 square foot store room in the basement, so I would say it would help a lot. Buy the 5 year warranty with it though, it is well worth it.....

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Each unit has a recommend max Sqr ft area. My basement is 600+ Sqr ft and this dehumidifier works fine b/c I paired it with an oscillating table fan positioned at another corner of basement. My basement, however, is unfinished and relatively open. Previous owners used two dehumidifiers in the same basement and had a couple of partitions (which I took down after purchasing house) and it didn’t keep basement dry. I can’t imagine any dehumidifier can work rooms that are completely or partially partitioned off from where the dehumidifier is. Damp air doesn’t circulate well. I would consult your HVAC folks on what would be sufficient or recommended given you have a built-in system dehumidifier. My sister has a 2,400+ Sqr ft new construction home with very good HVAC system that is suppose to circulate air in the house and pull fresh from outside but humidity is hard to control. Good luck.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hey, JunDes! The model you selected is designed to remove moisture in a 700 sq foot area. We recommend checking your area to see if the dehumidifier meets the square footage specifications. ~Courtney
