• Yes, the fan will ONLY run to reach setpoint. I would however be very mindful of drainage location. My drain was 7 ft above built-in pump level (on a stand-pipe) and I'm having drainage issues. If you are draining below the pump, then I wouldn't worry. Hope this helps.

• Yes, the fan turns off. I have two of these and use the pump to send the water to my two sump pumps, and the pumps only run when the bucket is full.
