A:AnswerDespite one answer saying it wouldn't fit, I went ahead with the installation anyway. The installer took about 30 minutes for the entire installation and had zero issues. So it is a suitable replacement.
A:AnswerThat's a great question, StewieG! In researching, we were able to see that this microwave oven is designed for adaptation to the following three types of ventilation: Outside top exhaust (Vertical Duct), outside back exhaust (Horizontal Duct), and recirculating (Non-Vented Ductless). We hope this information was helpful to your shopping experience. –Ciara
A:AnswerWe replaced an existing FGMV175QFA Microwave and everything matched up. To figure this ahead of time, I searched for installation instructions for both online and confirmed the bracket matched. Be careful on the vent. Hidden in the installation instructions is a way of rotating the vent fan for a vent that goes straight up vs one that goes straight back. Make sure you rotate the fan if needed for your install.
A:AnswerHi, Julie! This microwave can be installed for back, top, or recirculating exhaust. It will arrive set up for recirculation, which will exhaust out the front top. If preferred, duct work can be set up for outside venting, but it is not necessary and the microwave will perform well while recirculating exhaust. ~Ashton
A:AnswerHey there, StainlessSteel! Thank you for your inquiry. After researching, we were able to see that the exterior finish of this model is listed as Smudge-Proof Stainless Steel. We hope this information was helpful to you. -Ciara
A:AnswerHello, there! We do not have a direct replacement for this model. The two microwaves that are very similar in features and specifications are FFMV1745TS and FGMV17WNVF. ~ Christy
A:AnswerHi! Thanks for reaching out to us, Wolfjack7. Due to the age of the appliance, the mounting brackets will possibly be different. Our suggestion would be for you to ensure that the cut out is the recommended for the replacement unit. I have listed the cutout dimensions for you to view: (Height 16 4/5", Width 30", Length 12"). I hope this information is helpful to you and your shopping experience. ~Corletta
A:AnswerFunctionally it's a suitable replacement however the outside dimensions are slightly different, so it's not necessarily an easy, drop-in replacement. You may have to make minor modifications to the mount depending on what back splash you have on your wall. My son in law had tiled up the back wall to the bottom of the prior microwave FGMV174KFB and this one has a plate with a lip that prevented a flush mount. He had to remove a row of the decorative tile to get it to fit properly. If you have wiggle room this will probably not be a problem. Although a bit of a hassle it was worth it in the end as it matches the rest of the appliances..
A:AnswerThe difference between the two models is the color of the LED display. The FGMV176NTF has a green LED display and the FGMV17WNVF has a white LED display.
A:AnswerHey there! Thank you for your inquiry. In researching, we were able to see the model FGMV174KFA is replaced by FGMV176NTF. We hope this helps! -Thanks!-
A:AnswerHi, Tyler! Thank you for this inquiry and for reaching out. Upon comparing the dimensions of your microwave M/N: FGMV174KF to this unit you're inquiring about, I have to say that this is the best comparable unit, M/N: FGMV176NTF. They are similar in height and width, and the comparable unit is just half an inch smaller in depth. We hope you find this information helpful! ~Juan
