Q: QuestionI never use ice except once or twice a year during large parties. Is it possible to turn off the ice maker and remove the box inside to use it as extra space in the fridge? Then put it back in and turn it on when we have a party planned?

• A:Answer Hello, Casey! Thanks for reaching out! This ice maker should produce between 2 and 2.5 lbs of ice per 24 hours depending on usage conditions. The ice bin will hold about 6 lbs of ice. Please note that the ice maker will only produce the advertised production rate if the product is set at 0°F.
