That answer would be relative, depending on what an individual deems ‘noisy’. To me, 98% of the time there is a normal low hum. 2% of the time it makes a somewhat louder whistling noise; I think this is when it’s refilling the internal ice maker/water dispenser with water. It is in no way a bother to me or my wife.

High-efficiency compressors like the one included in this model will run at a higher RPM than older models, and it is normal to hear some high-pitched humming or pulsing noises while in operation.
