Hello Goose! The distance from the floor to the water inlet valve is 3 ¾ inches without the toe grille. Once the grille has been added to the bottom of the dishwasher will touch the floor. We would not recommend adding any heat register underneath the dishwasher. We hope that this information is helpful to you. –Thanks!-
