“Our current Frigidaire lost traction on the lower rack in less than a year. No matter how much I adjust the wheels/rollers, the lower rack just doesn't go in an out smoothly. Can this one handle heavy plates without loosing smooth traction on lower rac?”

Hello, RackTraction! This dishwasher’s bottom rack is meant for large and heavy plates, saucers, bowls, and cookware. Be sure to follow the instructions regarding proper loading outlined in the Use and Care guide to ensure you are not overloading your rack. Although it functions like a dishwasher, the cap to the rinse aid broke off and 2 of my wheels to the bottom cart mysteriously disappeared. 3 out of 10 washes, the dishwashing soap door does not open and we have to re-run the dishwasher wasting water and electricity for over an hour once again. Look for a different dishwasher.
