Hi KLLL! For refrigerator model, FGHB2866PF, you can safely fit a 7 1/2 inches pitcher under the dispenser area. However, the complete measurement from the bottom of your dispenser to the top where the contrl panel begins is 9 inches. Please try again later.It looks like there is enough room between the downtube & the activator flap that you could get a thin rim in between to allow an @8 inch tall container BUT I would hate to get it wedged in and either overflow or possible break the plastic. A 7 to 7.5 inch tall container will fit easily. My best idea for something taller is to turn off the ice maker, try your container, and if it fits easily turn the ice maker back on and fill away. Be mindful of the extra weight!
