A: Yes it does. It will continue on and off until it is closed. A feature you must have with kids!
Q: IS THE "IN DOOR" WATER COOLED OR ROOM TEMP?
A: It's room temperature. Stay away from this model and look at a different brand. I've had nothing but trouble since I wrote my 5 star review!

However, the complete measurement from the bottom of your dispenser to the top where the contrl panel begins is 9 inches.
