Hello Jakal, thank you for your question! As long as your microwave is designed to help ventilate the space, you can use it above the gas range BGGF3045RF. We suggest for proper installation the microwave needs to be at least 30 inches from the cooktop to the bottom of the microwave. We hope this information is helpful. –Thanks!-
