Water seems to last a day or two of constant running. You add water to the pull out container in the back. We just flip the two retainers and pull out the container enough to add water and ice cubes. There is no ice tray. There is no drip. Evaporative cooling only with a fan blowing air across the water and out the front. A tower fan pushes air whether hot or cold. This and similar units do offer cooling.
