“The display on the camera does not stay on very long while driving. Is the display monitor supposed to be visibly on while driving or is it designed to turn off after a certain amount of time? If it is designed to turn off, is the camera still recording?”

The display is pre-set to turn off after a minute or so. The cam is still recording as long as the small red light is ON. There is an option in SETTINGS to keep the display ON all the time if you so desire.

The device will continue to record video even while the screen is dimmed (indicated by a red light), provided the microSD card remains in the device and the device remains powered on. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes the camera is still recording when the screen shuts off after a period of time. I believe it tells you that just before the screen shuts off. When you unplug the camera and it powers down it will tell you then that the recording will stop
